CIT Training prepares first responders to:

• Recognize and respond to various behavioral health conditions including trauma

​​

• Utilize communication, connection and de-escalation strategies to defuse potentially volatile situations

​

• Develop strategies for partnering with mental health mobile crisis teams to ensure that community members have access to care and resources, thereby reducing the number of law enforcement calls for service and recurring emergency room visits​.

​

This training is limited to law enforcement officers, other public safety personnel within Connecticut, and members of the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services Mobile Crisis Teams only.  POST-C credits are available.
